about me

I'm Puel. I've gone by Churri and Churri Arashi in the past (and even Bovine no Miko once during an extremely stupid phase of my development), but now I tend to respond to Puel, Puella, or "that weird theater kid who pervs on fictional characters too much."

I'm a college student pursuing a BFA in acting with a minor in creative writing and maybe a minor in anthropology, if I can get it all done in time. This journal, however, isn't about my life as much as it's about fandom and the things I do in it. Namely, writing fanfic, talking about my writing process and about the craft in general, nattering on about fandoms, and occasionally discussing social theory because that's how I roll. This all sounds like far heavier reading than it is; I can, admittedly, get pretentious, but it's pretension with a heavy irreverent streak.

As of Fall '09, I'm starting to introduce more original content to this journal, although most of it is under the dubious protection of friendslock. Hopefully such content will not bore people to death. We'll see.

fandoms

Current: Axis Powers Hetalia (yes, the one with the gay countries in), with side trips into Star Trek XI (boldly going where so many have gone before), Princess Tutu (apparently I like canon het when it involves a duck!), and Age of Sail (especially Naomi Novik's Temeraire series, because DRAGONS).

I sometimes write: Battlestar Galactica (so what exactly was Kara, RDM?), Code Geass (I loves me some Knight of Masochist I mean Seven), Kuroshitsuji (clothesporn!), The Sandman (and other Neil Gaiman fandoms), Shin Megami Tensei (mostly DDS and Persona, maybe a little Nocturne), Tokyo Babylon/X (insert sodomy/SADAME joke here), and Yami no Matsuei (I love my dead gay dorks).

I used to write, but don't often now: Baccano!, Death Note, Doctor Who, Final Fantasy IV/VI/VII/XII, Firefly, Good Omens, Harry Potter, Hellsing, Petshop of Horrors, Revolutionary Girl Utena, X-men.

Old fandoms are old: Bleach, Kingdom Hearts, Naruto, Saiyuki, Pirates of the Caribbean, Runaways, Transformers.

As for ships, I've never been much for them. I'm very fond of some pairings, and I'm certainly prefer some pairings to others, but having One True Pairing isn't really something I do. Expect lots of different configurations here.

I don't really have one, so to speak. As a general rule, I friend people who friend me back as long as they introduce themselves at some point, so don't be shy about saying hi -- I do like talking to people on the Internet, except during my occasional periods of social fail. In many cases, I'm more likely to grant people access to my locked content than I am to read (or at least to respond to) other peoples' entries. (See above regarding periods of social fail, and I'm rather bad at remembering to comment in general.) If there's something you want me to read, though, you're always welcome to mention so in a comment or PM me about it, and I'll do my best to check it out.
